Balearic & Shore handling is a full-service ground operations group offering its services to all types of vessels in the maritime sector. The first of the group’s companies, Balearic Handling, was formed in 2010 carrying out it’s first operations in 2011 with TUI Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line & MSC Cruises. In 2012 Balearic Handling’s sister company, Shore Handling was formed to support the Cruise Lines in the Canary Islands.
After building up a strong rapport with some of the cruise industries biggest names, Balearic and Shore Handling ventured into new waters winning the right to manage the second cruise terminal in Vigo, Atlantic Vigo Cruise Terminal. During its first year in operation, the terminal with Balearic & Shore Handling’s expertise in turnaround operations, successfully managed two turnaround operations for the former ‘Pullmantur Cruise Lines’ a rare sight in what is not known as a turnaround port. Despite what were challenging times for all involved in the cruise industry during the pandemic of 2020/21 Balearic & Shore Handling remained resilient and returned with full operations in 2022 in what was a successful year for the group.
